34,000 spectators at opening Galatasaray match

Istanbul, Turkey – With thanks to the amazing fan base of Galatasaray, over 34,000 spectators turned up to the opening Galatasaray game of the 2012-2013 season of the Spor Toto Süper Lig. This figure exceeds the current average attendees for all Galatasaray games.

Galatasaray thanked their fans by beating their opening round opponents Kas?mpa?a, 2-1 with a great performance from the entire team. Umut Bulut continued his fantastic pre-season form to score two Galatasaray goals, one in the 35th and the second in the 87th minute.

UEFA Champions League Group Stage Draw, Monaco

Istanbul, Turkey – Galatasaray are eagerly awaiting the UEFA Champions League Group Stage Draw on Thursday night in Monaco to confirm who will be joining them in their group. Recording victories in the Turkish Super Cup against arch rivals Fenerbahçe FC, and holding an, as yet, unbeaten track record in the Turkish Super Lig, Galatasaray has made a very promising start to the season and is excited to kick-off its 2012-2013 UEFA Champions League campaign six seasons after their last appearance in the competition.

The draw in Monaco kicks off at 17.45 on Thursday, August 30, in the Grimaldi Forum. The first games of the new UEFA Champions League season start on September 18.

Galatasaray equalise Besiktas 3-3

Istanbul, Turkey – With a fierce rivalry going back to 1924, Sunday evening’s Istanbul Derby matchup between Galatasaray and Be?ikta? was always going to attract strong interest and support from the loyal fans of both teams.
