One Big Week

Nothing really can top the defeating of the Seattle Sounders in the US Open Cup Final.  Being down on the field during the celebrations  showed how much this meant to the players and the fact that 2013-14 CONCACAF Champions League is something to get excited about, when it rolls around.  But More For KC as a whole it has been some time since there was a championship here.

But then rival DC United with Ben Olsen came around and we sent him back to the capitol with a 2-1 victory that after 24 matches places Sporting KC in first in the Eastern Conference and second behind San Jose.

Things are definitely looking bright at the moment.

Roger Recitation

He looked amazing in the Olympics and then did so on little rest in the US Open Cup Final.

He has been a complete warrior for this club and now he is being noticed by clubs in Spain.

He deserves all the attention that he has received and in my mind if a big club is courting let them.  He has been a loyal servant here and the fact is that eventually someone else would’ve noticed, they have, and he could leave.

While I’d rather he stay and try and help us win the MLS Cup if a club offers more that $6 million Id say go for it and best of luck.

Trio Representing Nationalism

Graham Zusi, Matt Besler, and Roger Espinoza have been called-up by the USMNT and Honduras for friendlies on Wednesday.

Roger is a permanent fixture of Honduras and will only be traveling to Miami, Florida as Los Catrachos face Argentina side Boca Juniors in a friendly at Sun Life Stadium, home to the Miami Dolphins.

Matt is receiving his first call-up for the USMNT and it is past due.  He and Graham will be traveling to Mexico City to face Mexico at the Estadio Azteca.  Here is hoping he receives his first cap.
