Written by Yomi Akinyemi

Two weeks ago at the Allianz-Arena in Munich, Raul scored the only goal as visitors Schalke knocked out defending German cup Champions Bayern Munich to seal a place in the DFB-Pokal final.

Last week at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkircken, a Jefferson Farfan double, the latter a dink in the 90th minute, gave Schalke a 3-1 win over Valencia as the hosts secured a position in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions league.

Yet, Schalke’s best fortnight of the season was not enough to save its manager’s job, as the club announced, with immediate effect, the sacking of Felix Magath.

Serie A Week 29 Review: Totti The Saviour In Rome Derby
Written by Scot Munroe
Monday, 14 March 2011 12:55

Lazio's lean run in the Rome derby is now five games over two seasons.  In this most recent derby, they really lost their heads in the last 20 minutes as they had two men sent off.  Both Stefan Radu and Matuzalem were sent off in the last five minutes.  Roma had captain Francesco Totti to thank for both of the goals.  The last time that Lazio won the derby was April 2009 with a 4-2 victory.
