4 Players Selected in Supplemental Draft
Sporting Kansas City has selected four players in the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft with Shawn Singh, Stefan Antonijevic, Kyle Miller, and Pablo Punyed.
Kyle Miller has a particular connection to Sporting Kansas City being a former member of the Sporting youth academy. Miller attended Rockhurst University where he anchored the defense that only let it seven goals all season and helped the Hawks reach the NCAA tournament quarterfinals.
“It’s a dream come true for me,” Miller said. “I went to all the games growing up.”
Antonijevic, a defender, played at Valparaiso University and was named Horizon League Defensive Player of the year in 2011.
Punyed played four years at St. John’s University. In 2011 he earned co-Big East Midfielder of the Year honors after scoring four goals and creating three assists for the Red Storm. He has represented the US U-20 side in 2008.
Singh comes to Sporting KC from UCLA. As a defender he earned All-Pac-12 honors twice. Singh was at the 2012 MLS Player Combine in Fort Lauderdale.
