On this week's La Liga Headlines we're offering something a little different to go along with our Madrid and Barcelona coverage. We're adding some regional news from Valencia and Seville

Community of Madrid

Marca.com: "The Wonder Duo.": Atletico Madrid 2-0 Athletic Bilbao: El Guaje (David Villa) and Diego Costa return to form and thrash for Atletico. An exhibition for El Cholo Simeone's men against a poor Athletic that couldn't even manage a shot on goal. Adrian returns to the startingline-up and reconciles with the Calderon. Real Madrid: the best Cristiano of all. He reaches a record start: 20 goals in 15 games. At this rate he'll catch Raul in 14 months. Ancelotti has detected a problem in defense, the "effect on the wings." Valencia: Getafe 0-1 Valencia:  A great goal by Pabon saves Valencia from the mud. Djukic takes a breath.
Response: time for Marca to start covering what is really happening in Spain, both good and bad, and the remarkable effect  that Diego Simeone has had, keeping a club like Atleti in the title race. This is a club that might even be better after having lost the likes of Fernando Torres, Kun Aguero and Falcao over the last 6 and half years

Barcelona
Sport.es: 8.5 Million, Lewandowski's Price: Barca are competing however with Arsenal, City and Chelsea for the Polish goals-scorer. Guardiola also wants Kun Aguero. Report: Neymar puts himself at 100. He hasn't shown his best in his hundred days at the Camp Nou. Analysis: Recouping Leo is the objective for Tata Martino. The coach is looking for a scheme to get the best out of Messi. Real Madrid:  with 16 goals in 12 games Madrid is a sieve on defense. Atletico Madrid 2-0 Athletic: Atletico maintains its pulse against Barca.
Response: when the idea that Barcelona need a striker a true number 9 is floated it's always with the idea that they need a second option if either Messi or now Neymar falters, and that is the popular opinion, and I agree with it to a certain extent, but not as an after thought. You don't bring Zlatan in as Messi's water-carrier. Trust that a player like that will help and improve your team and open up space for everyone. Since then, the only one I'd bring in for that is someone as versatile as Lewandowski.

Valencia
Superdeporte.es: There is a path!: Getafe 0-1 Valencia: committment, effort, Parejo and Banega show the way. A Mathieu Alarm: very careful with the knock on his ankle.
Response: it has been a dreadful season for coach Djukic and his charges but this club cannot just show up and take a point anymore. They need to continue to bring in gritty performances or else they will suffer dearly.

Sevilla
Estadiodeportivo.com: Hoodoo Continues: Malaga 3-2 Real Betis: Betis loses in the 94th minute in a crazy match filled with incidents, one of them serious: Perquis had to leave the pitch in an ambulance with a double-fracture of his jaw. Sevilla: A bitter day for Unai Emery. His birthday was yesterday. The poor coach's market forces them to be patient. Atletico Madrid: their breath, at the nape of Barca's neck. The partnership formed by Villa and Diego Costa continues to give points to Atleti. Response: anyone who loves great football and Spanish footie in particular, has to root for Betis coach Pepe Mel.
