Again Sporting KC finds themselves facing the thoughts of elimination from the MLS Playoffs.
Down 2-1, unlike the 2-0 of last season, Sporting KC will look to find the winning touch at Sporting Park against an adversary that has been unlucky in KC.
Fact is that if Sporting doesn’t survive this hurdle then fingers will be pointed.
2011 the team made the conference finals before bowing out to Houston in KC.
In 2012 the season was highlighted with another Eastern Conference crown and the US Open Cup title with Champions League place. Playoffs ended at the hands of Houston in the conference semifinals.
Early knockout in the Open Cup at the hands of affiliated club Orlando City with a runner-up in both the Eastern Conference and Supporters Shield followed by winning their group in the CONCACAF Champions League.
But it is the playoffs and as so many cliche’s go with it it will be reiterated, It’s a new season.
